Job summary

APIC is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting / Assistant Controller to lead accounting operations across APIC and related entities. You will oversee the financial close, general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and timely financial reporting, while guiding accounting staff and coordinating with the Controller on audits and compliance.

The role emphasizes ownership, unity, and commitment, with responsibility for internal controls and process improvements within a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; equivalent experience considered.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience incl. financial close, GL accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls; nonprofit accounting preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in leadership, supervision, or functional oversight within accounting.
• Strong proficiency with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close across APIC and related entities, ensuring timely, accurate reporting.
• Prepare and review complex balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, intercompany activity, and allocations.
• Maintain general ledger integrity across entities and ensure proper classification and support.
• Provide guidance to accounting staff, resolve complex accounting issues, and improve processes and controls.
• Partner with Controller on financial reporting, audits, compliance, and escalation in Controller’s absence.
