Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC in Los Angeles is seeking an underwriting professional to support profitability and growth by evaluating risks and issuing policies in a timely manner.

Under general supervision, you will assess risk acceptability, communicate decisions to producers, and cultivate client relationships while pursuing CPCU/RPLU education and other professional designations as agreed with management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Studies toward attaining CPCU, RPLU or AU are preferred depending on specialty area.
• State-specific insurance license depending on specialty area is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting annual department goals for profitability, renewal retention, new business growth and rate increase.
• Evaluate risks for acceptability within established underwriting guidelines.
• Communicate decisions clearly with producers and respond to inquiries.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, producers, and vendors.
• Respond to submissions and servicing items within company time frames.
• Pursue CPCU or RPLU or AU designations as agreed with management.
• Provide guidance to junior staff when required.
