Job summary

Syms Strategic Group is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst II for a 100% remote role in the United States. The position emphasizes software CM, release engineering, and automation to manage both in-house and COTS software across regulated environments.

The candidate will lead CM efforts, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes. Public Trust clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex software builds/releases across environments.
• Federal/regulatory enterprise experience preferred.
• Deep CM/release engineering expertise.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with CM practices: identification, baselining, change control, status accounting.
• Proficient with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Azure DevOps repos and branching/merging.
• Hands-on with Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions; artifact repos like Nexus/Artifactory.
• Scripting for automation: Bash, PowerShell, Python.
• Experience managing COTS software and patches; IaC (Ansible/Terraform).
• Ability to mentor, collaborate, and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software (COTS and in-house).
• Perform CM and release tasks; document and align with configurations.
• Design, automate, and maintain productivity tools for software modeling and development.
• Create build procedures supporting product development and use.
• Develop company-wide CM standards and train developers on CM tools.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions; supervise junior analysts/engineers.
• Ensure repeatable, compliant build/deploy processes across projects.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders; translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
