Job summary

Syms Strategic Group in the United States-based remote role seeks a Senior Configuration Analyst - II to lead software configuration management and release activities for VA projects. This full-time position requires deep CM expertise and experience in regulated or federal environments.

You will design build procedures, develop CM standards, mentor junior analysts, and ensure compliant, repeatable deployment across projects while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading complex software builds and releases across multiple environments.
• Experience in large regulated or federal environments.
• Deep expertise in configuration management and release engineering.
• Broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
• Experience with CM practices: identification, baselining, change control, status accounting.
• Experience with source control systems and branching/merging strategies.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and artifact repositories.
• Experience scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).
• Security clearance: Public Trust (MBI) if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software.
• Perform CM and release tasks to document and align with hardware configurations.
• Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools for software modeling.
• Design and implement build procedures for software product development.
• Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality practices.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; mentor junior staff.
