Job summary

Jobgether SRL in the United States seeks a Staff Cloud Security Engineer to own security across AWS, applications, and AI capabilities. This remote, high-impact role reports to the CTO and builds scalable security programs in a fast-moving healthcare tech environment.

You will drive SOC 2 and HIPAA readiness, implement IaC guardrails, secure data (PHI/PII), and shape responsible AI governance while mentoring engineers and collaborating with executives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of security engineering experience with production cloud environments, AWS focus preferred.
• Deep knowledge of AWS security architecture including IAM, encryption, logging and threat detection.
• Experience securing PostgreSQL or other sensitive data stores.
• Strong understanding of application security, APIs, and secure software design.
• Experience leading SOC 2 Type I/II audits and HIPAA compliance initiatives.
• Practical IaC security with Pulumi, CloudFormation, or CDK; CI/CD security.
• Experience securing AI/LLM apps, guarding against prompt injection and data exposure.
• Proven incident response leadership and post-incident learning.
• Excellent communication skills to explain risk and security posture to leadership and engineers.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and build scalable security programs.
• Familiarity with Vanta, Drata, Secureframe.
• Knowledge of WebRTC or real-time media security is a plus.
• Startup experience building security from ground up is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security, CISSP) are beneficial.
• Healthcare privacy considerations, especially with PHI/PII, are a plus.
• Comfort with remote collaboration across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and secure AWS infrastructure including IAM, VPC, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and WAF.
• Harden EKS clusters and container runtimes; enforce policy-as-code for provisioning.
• Secure applications and APIs with authentication, authorization, and API security controls.
• Protect real-time video/communication systems (WebRTC) and data in transit and at rest.
• Develop organization-wide AI governance and safety measures for internal and third-party tools.
• Implement monitoring, telemetry, and audit logging for AI/ML workflows.
• Lead SOC 2 Type I/II and HIPAA readiness; manage risk assessments and BAAs.
• Automate compliance using platforms like Vanta; maintain policy, risk registers, and vendor risk.
• Secure endpoints and corporate devices; manage IAM, SSO, MFA, and access reviews.
• Deliver security awareness training with People Ops; collaborate across org.
• Define security roadmap, mentor engineers, and build a security-conscious culture.
• Lead incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and disaster recovery planning.
