Job summary

HealthMark Group is hiring a Senior Cloud Security Engineer. You will design, implement, and maintain security controls for our AWS cloud and PHI‑bearing workloads, aligning with HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 requirements.

You will mentor security engineers and drive secure cloud architecture across accounts and workloads. You will build guardrails, automate security via CI/CD pipelines, and coordinate incident response with the Security Operations and MDR teams to ensure continuous audit readiness

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years in cybersecurity, infra engineering, or DevOps with 3+ years in AWS compliance‑driven engineering.
• Hands‑on knowledge of core AWS services handling PHI (VPC/IAM/EC2/S3/RDS/Lambda/EKS).
• Experience securing Linux systems and cloud workloads, with robust IAM and logging practices.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITRUST CSF, and SOC 2 controls within cloud contexts.
• Demonstrated cloud detection engineering and incident response using AWS & SIEM telemetry.
• Production experience with Terraform or CloudFormation and policy‑as‑code integration into CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise‑grade security controls in AWS environments protecting PHI.
• Create and maintain multi‑account AWS architecture with guardrails and baselines.
• Integrate security into CI/CD via Terraform/CloudFormation and policy‑as‑code tools.
• Enforce data encryption at rest/in transit using AWS KMS in line with HITRUST/HIPAA.
• Develop least‑privilege IAM, SCPs, and AWS Organizations boundaries.
• Coordinate vulnerability triage and remediation with security tooling and SOC processes.
• Lead security incident investigations and post‑mortem improvements with MDR and Cloud Ops.
