Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering, with a focus on water and sanitation infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing large-scale municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Expertise in hydraulic modeling software for water and sewer networks.
• In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and leadership for remote team management.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
• Experience with GIS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and conceptualization of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment works, and distribution/collection networks.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documentation for water and sanitation projects.
• Manage project lifecycles from scope to closeout, ensuring budget and timelines.
• Conduct feasibility studies, option analyses, and impact assessments for new infrastructure.
• Ensure designs comply with national standards, SANS codes, and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff working remotely.
• Collaborate with clients, municipal authorities, contractors, and stakeholders via digital platforms.
• Perform QA/QC checks on designs and construction activities.
• Stay updated on advancements in water and wastewater technology and sustainable practices.
• Contribute to business development through proposals and client engagement.
