Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer for a remote role, focusing on design, development, and optimization of chemical processes across conceptualization through implementation. You will collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and project management, aligning with safety and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in chemical process engineering, expertise in process simulation software such as Aspen Plus or HYSYS, and strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years in chemical process engineering.
• Experience with process design, scale-up and optimization.
• Familiarity with PSM and risk assessment.
• Experience working with remote/distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of new chemical processes and optimization of existing ones.
• Create and review PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Perform process simulations, mass and energy balances, and equipment sizing.
• Conduct PHAs and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Collaborate virtually with project teams, vendors, and clients.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
• Develop strategies for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
