Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Senior Process Design Engineer to lead critical design initiatives for chemical operations. This remote-first role requires strong expertise in process design, simulations, and team leadership, enabling execution from concept through detailed engineering packages.

You will develop innovative process designs, perform safety reviews, and mentor junior engineers while delivering state-of-the-art solutions in a flexible, remote-first setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in process design engineering with a strong project portfolio.
• Expert proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
• In-depth knowledge of chemical unit operations, thermodynamics, and reaction engineering.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and manage complex projects remotely.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual design and development of new chemical processes and modifications.
• Prepare PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and economic evaluations.
• Perform safety reviews, including HAZOP analysis and regulatory alignment.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers on the project team.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other disciplines to meet objectives.
