Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web application with a SQL Server backend, SSIS, AD integration, and SQL Server Agent jobs. This role is fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities include maintaining ASP.NET apps, optimizing SQL Server performance, updating SSIS packages, and ensuring secure coding practices across the stack. Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experience.
• Strong C# and ASP.NET experience with MVC/Web API/Web Forms.
• Solid T-SQL skills and SQL Server administration knowledge.
• Hands-on SSIS development and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication; read/write to AD.
• SQL Server Agent job management and IIS administration.
• Git-based development workflow; good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ASP.NET MVC/Web API/Web Forms applications and ensure UI/DB integration.
• Support SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuning.
• Update and deploy SSIS packages and manage SQL Server Agent jobs.
• Design and optimize relational databases; write efficient T-SQL and stored procedures.
• Configure AD authentication and IIS settings; troubleshoot stack issues end-to-end.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design features and fix issues.
• Maintain documentation and follow secure coding practices; write clean, maintainable code.
• Stay current with .NET updates and Microsoft ecosystem; recommend improvements.
