Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC (SSG) seeks a Senior Business Analyst to support the Veterans Affairs program in a 100% remote U.S. position. You will lead requirements capture for software teams, document needs in ALM tools, and manage the backlog using SAFe practices to drive successful project outcomes.

The role requires strong communication, deep Agile experience, and proficiency with JIRA and MS Office (Excel). A Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Software development and SAFe/Scaled Agile experience required.
• Excellent oral and written communication to diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, customer service, and problem solving.
• Experience conducting independent research for complex questions.
• Advanced MS Office experience, including Excel.
• Analytical skills with data integration experience.
• Expertise with JIRA tools in a large Agile context.
• Experience in large Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Document requirements in an ALM tool and manage them accordingly.
• Perform Agile requirement management for a product team.
• Develop user stories, backlog items, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct user interviews and create business process models.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and other contractors to document requirements.
• Perform backlog refinement and traceability across requirements, test cases, and risks.
• Manage change control and deliver project documents to the client.
