Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a 100% U.S.-based remote position within the Veterans Affairs department. You will lead requirements capture for software teams, work with IT and leadership to document needs in ALM tools, and manage backlog items and acceptance criteria in SAFe environments.

Required are a strong software development background, SAFe and Agile experience, excellent communication, and proficient use of JIRA.

Qualifications

Background in software development and SAFe methodologies.
Excellent written and oral communication with non-technical audiences.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Experience conducting independent research to resolve complex questions.
Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
Strong analytical skills integrating information from multiple sources.
Experience with JIRA for requirements management and traceability.
Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to elaborate and document requirements in an ALM tool.
Manage requirements in an ALM tool.
Perform Agile requirement management activities for a product team.
Analyze user needs to determine functional and technical requirements.
Conduct user interviews, lead sessions, and develop business process models and specs.
Gather and document business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
Elaborate user stories, backlog items, and acceptance criteria.
Use JIRA for requirements management, testing, and defect management.
