Illumina is seeking a Sr. Manager, Bioinformatics to lead a team supporting Clinical Genomics products including oncology and regulated sequencing solutions.

You will oversee analytics development, validation, and deployment of bioinformatics workflows, collaborating across R&D, software, regulatory, and commercial teams. The role requires strong leadership, experience with regulated devices, and expertise in NGS data analysis using Python, R, and Linux.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 12+ years of related experience; 3–6 years of management experience.
• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Genomics, or related field with 8+ years preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing bioinformatics teams and complex programs.
• Experience with regulated products (IVD, CDx, FDA, IVDR) or similar.
• Strong NGS/genomics data analysis and bioinformatics pipeline development.
• Experience deploying genomics products with customers/commercial teams.
• Proficiency with Python, R, and Linux-based environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of bioinformatics scientists.
• Manage bioinformatics activities across Clinical Genomics product development and lifecycle.
• Oversee development, validation, and deployment of analytical methods and workflows.
• Collaborate with R&D, Software, Biostatistics, Regulatory, Quality, PM, and Commercial teams.
• Partner with customers and collaborators to support product adoption and troubleshoot challenges.
• Drive evaluation and adoption of new analytical approaches and scalable solutions.
