Job summary

Illumina, Inc. is seeking a Director of Bioinformatics to provide strategic leadership for its multiomics portfolio, spanning single cell, spatial biology, proteomics, and epigenomics.

You will lead a team of scientists and engineers to align informatics capabilities with product roadmaps and customer needs. The role partners with Product Management, Assay Development, Software Engineering, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams to drive end-to-end product workflows and customer-facing

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, CS, Statistics, Genomics or related field, with 10+ years of experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing complex bioinformatics organizations.
• Track record delivering customer-facing software, analytics methods, or informatics products including launches.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive bioinformatics strategy across Illumina's multiomics portfolio (single cell, spatial biology, proteomics, epigenomics).
• Establish long-term vision for customer-facing informatics experiences and end-to-end product workflows.
• Drive innovation in analysis methods, AI-enabled workflows, and multiomics capabilities.
• Lead, develop, and grow a team of bioinformatics scientists and engineers; oversee programs from concept to launch.
• Represent Bioinformatics and partner cross-functionally to develop technology roadmaps and investment priorities.
