Job summary

re-zoo-me is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer (Java/Node.js) for a fully remote position in the United States. You will design and maintain REST APIs, build distributed backend systems, and work in a cloud-native, containerized environment.

The role requires strong Java with Spring, Node.js experience, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and leads to deliver scalable backend solutions and resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• Experience designing REST APIs and backend microservices.
• Strong Java/Spring Boot and Node.js capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, concurrency, and system design.
• Proficient in Linux and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and Node.js.
• Build and support containerized microservices on AWS, including Kubernetes/EKS.
• Collaborate with engineers, tech leads, and product managers to deliver backend solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed-system issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and deployment pipelines.
