Job summary

Motional is seeking a Senior Engineer (Autonomy- Localization) to design, implement, and test localization pipelines for autonomous vehicles. You will work from Boston, with remote U.S. options, and provide technical leadership across the localization stack.

Responsibilities include code reviews, mentoring, and collaborating with perception, motion planning, and controls experts to enable robust SLAM and sensor data fusion in production environments. Ref N270.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, EE, robotics, or ME.
• 3+ years of software development for autonomous robotics.
• Production-focused C++ software development and data-pipeline design.
• 3+ years in sensor data processing, SLAM, and deployment optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test onboard and offboard localization pipelines.
• Review code and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with localization APIs and the mapping team.
• Provide technical leadership on code quality and design.
• Work with perception, motion planning, and controls experts.
