Job summary

AeroVect Technologies Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead localization, mapping, and calibration stacks for autonomous ground operations at major airports.

You will own core areas of the localization pipeline, drive production reliability on real hardware, and collaborate across perception, planning, and platform interfaces to push the system toward driverless operation. You will guide architecture, contribute to online validation, and build tooling for diagnostics and post-mission

Qualifications

• 8+ years in robotics or autonomous vehicles with production deployment experience in localization/state-estimation workflows.
• Strong background in multi-sensor fusion across LiDAR, IMU, GNSS, and cameras.
• Proven technical leadership and ability to drive architecture across teams.
• Expertise in non-linear optimization (Ceres, GTSAM, g2o) and/or filtering (EKF/UKF).
• Strong C++ (C++17+) and Linux/ROS2 experience.
• Understanding of how calibration quality affects localization and safety.

Responsibilities

• Own one or more core localization stack areas (state estimation, mapping, calibration) and drive them to production reliability at airports.
• Contribute to sensor integration, performance tuning, and regression testing across the pipeline.
• Design online validation for localization integrity and cross-sensor consistency during missions.
• Develop tooling for diagnostics, health logging, and post-mission analysis.
• Contribute to regression, validation, and release gating for localization changes deployed.
• Deploy, test, and iterate using data from real autonomous operations.
