Job summary

Motional is seeking a Senior Engineer (Autonomy- Localization) to design, implement, and test localization pipelines for autonomous vehicles. You will work from Boston, with remote U.S. options, and provide technical leadership across the localization stack.

Responsibilities include code reviews, mentoring, and collaborating with perception, motion planning, and controls experts to enable robust SLAM and sensor data fusion in production environments. Ref N270.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, EE, robotics, or ME.
• 3+ years of software development for autonomous robotics.
• Production-focused C++ software development and data-pipeline design.
• 3+ years in sensor data processing, SLAM, and deployment optimization.

• Design, implement, and test onboard and offboardsoftware pipelines for autonomous vehicle localization systems.
• Conduct code review and guide junior team members on code quality, correctness and efficiency.
• Work with mapping team to establish API for localization-mapping interaction.
• Provide technical leadership in code quality and design.
• Collaborate with perception, motion planning, and controls algorithm experts.
