Job summary

The Nature Conservancy is seeking a Senior Attorney to provide legal guidance and transactional support for global carbon and climate initiatives. You will structure, draft, and negotiate complex agreements, advise on corporate governance for global programs, and ensure transactions align with the Conservancy’s mission.

This remote role is based in the United States with travel up to 10%. You will work with cross‑functional teams, translate technical legal concepts for non‑lawyers, and help

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent and license to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction.
• Five years of relevant legal experience, including drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
• Strong corporate transactional background, including corporate structuring and governance.
• In-house or law firm experience advising sophisticated clients and senior management with a global presence.
• Ability to work closely as part of a team handling multiple projects and transactions concurrently.
• Sound business and deal sense.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and transactional support for global teams on carbon, climate and related matters.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate complex agreements and transactional documents.
• Advise on corporate entity structuring and governance for global programs and subsidiaries.
• Support transactions with for-profit entities, NGOs, sovereign and quasi‑sovereign counterparties.
• Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-lawyer stakeholders and teams.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary client teams across the Conservancy.
