Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist experienced in construction for a fully remote role based in the Atlanta area. You will manage complex invoice processing, subcontractor payments, and lien waivers across fast-paced projects while maintaining vendor relationships and supporting process improvements.

Responsibilities include reviewing subcontractor invoices, waivers, and lien documentation, reconciling statements, and partnering with PMs and Accounting to ensure

Qualifications

• 2+ years of senior or lead-level accounts payable experience.
• 2+ years of construction-specific accounts payable experience.
• 2+ years of intermediate-level Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments with high accuracy, verifying POs, vendor data, taxes, discounts, and coding.
• Review subcontractor invoices against POs and contracts, validating costs, retainage, and payment terms.
• Manage lien waiver and lien release processes: request, track, review, collect documentation for payments.
• Serve as primary contact for lien waiver administration and resolve documentation issues.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances, missing invoices, and discrepancies.
• Research and resolve complex payment delays by tracing invoices, approvals, and supporting docs.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Accounting to resolve discrepancies and maintain records.
• Use document management systems to route invoices and approvals.
