Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to lead design, development, and maintenance of core Android apps. You will collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance experiences and mentor junior engineers.

The role supports W2 and corp-to-corp options with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. Rate ranges from $60.00 to $70.00 per hour on a remote basis.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 8+ years of professional mobile development experience focused on Android.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Extensive experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and modern UI frameworks including Jetpack Compose and Material Design.
• Experience with Retrofit, Room, SQLite, and asynchronous data handling.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Preferred: Published apps on the Google Play Store.

Responsibilities

• Design and Build advanced, resilient Android applications from scratch or by enhancing large-scale codebases.
• Own application architecture (MVVM/MVP/Clean Architecture) and ensure SOLID principles.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and backend services.
• Profile performance, address memory leaks, reduce crashes/ANRs, and implement unit/instrumentation tests.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, review code, and mentor team members.
• Manage Git-based source control, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and support Google Play release management.
