Job summary

Koniag Government Services is seeking a Senior AI Technical Lead & Data Developer to support a federal modernization initiative for the Department of the Interior. This hands-on role focuses on leading AI projects, writing Python, optimizing SQL, and integrating data pipelines within Azure and Power Apps.

The position is remote and requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust. You will work with a team supporting a critical federal client, bridging AI implementation and robust data engineering.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in data development, software engineering, or data engineering
• 3+ years leading technical AI/ML projects
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
• Expert Python focused on data manipulation and AI workflows
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning
• Hands-on Azure platform experience (Azure SQL, Synapse, OpenAI)
• Experience integrating data with Power Apps/Power Automate

Responsibilities

• Lead AI initiatives from conception to deployment for the DOI client
• Develop practical AI/ML solutions using Python and Azure/OpenAI
• Design robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Write production-grade Python for data manipulation and automation
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and database structures
• Architect data environments in Azure and connect to Power Apps workflows
