Job summary

Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Developer & DBE to join a development team supporting a Federal client with a modernization project. The role is remote and requires willingness to obtain a Public Trust Moderate Clearance.

The candidate will lead database architecture, design, and optimization within an agile team, collaborating with data scientists and DevOps to deliver scalable, secure software solutions.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of overall IT/software development experience.
• 5+ years hands-on application development.
• 5+ years database engineering & architecture.
• 3+ years cloud-based development (Azure preferred).
• 3+ years Agile/Scrum development.
• 2+ years CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Federal IT or government contracting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software applications using modern frameworks and languages.
• Architect, build, and maintain relational and non-relational databases to support performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with Solution Architect, DevOps Engineer, and Data Scientists to align solutions with project requirements.
• Design and implement data models, schemas, stored procedures, and migration strategies.
• Monitor and tune database performance to meet speed, availability, and scalability targets.
• Implement data security practices including encryption and access controls in a federal context.
• Support CI/CD integration of database changes with Azure DevOps.
• Work with AI/ML teams to ensure data pipelines support model requirements.
• Participate in code and database design reviews to maintain quality.
• Document database designs, data flows, and code for compliance and knowledge sharing.
• Actively participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and agile ceremonies.
