Placer.ai is building out the AI agentic and context layer we use to run the company internally — the tooling, integrations, agents, and automation that make every team faster. This is the connective tissue of how an AI-native company operates, and we're building it from the ground up.

As a Senior AI Platform Engineer, you'll help build that platform end to end — the agents, connectors, automation, and infrastructure that let the entire company unlock major productivity gains.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience with MCP servers, LLM tool use, or AI agent frameworks.
• Experience in data engineering or analytics tooling.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, and credential management.
• Experience deploying services to Kubernetes or similar container infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Databricks is a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design agents that orchestrate multi-step workflows with planning and control logic.
• Build secure MCP servers and data access across tools and services.
• Develop and maintain MCP server standards and tooling for internal use.
• Implement OAuth and credential management at scale.
• Define production-ready standards for the internal AI platform.
• Track usage and insights to inform adoption and investment.
• Develop and maintain Cowork plugins and Claude skills for workflows.
• Own Databricks/BI data pipelines to support AI workloads.
• Ensure security, compliance, and cost optimization across the platform.
