Job summary

Placer.ai is building the AI backbone to run the company internally. As a Senior AI Platform Engineer, you will architect agents, MCP servers, and automation that let hundreds of employees work faster, turning manual work into automated workflows and embedding capabilities across the business.

You will drive Databricks-based data pipelines, secure authentication patterns, and scalable integration standards, partnering with AI Ops, R&D, Data Science, and GTM teams to enable high-leverage

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Prior experience with MCP servers, LLM tool use, or AI agent frameworks.
• Prior experience in data engineering or analytics tooling.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, and credential management.
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar container infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Databricks or similar DW/DLs is a plus.
• Strong communication skills; translate between business requests and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Architect agents that perform multi-step workflows with tool calls.
• Design, build, and deploy MCP servers across external and internal tools.
• Design OAuth and credential management for scalable connectors.
• Define production-ready MCP standards with security, logging, and compliance.
• Triage connector requests and bugs; help teams self-serve where possible.
• Develop Cowork plugins and Claude skills for workflows.
• Own Databricks-based internal BI and data pipelines.
• Build usage tracking and insights tools for leadership.
• Optimize compute, storage, and networking for cost efficiency.
• Ensure security and compliance across AI platforms.
