Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior AI Ethics Specialist to join a remote-first team focused on responsible, equitable AI development. You will establish and oversee ethical guidelines, conduct impact assessments, and advise development teams on mitigating bias and promoting fairness across AI systems.

The role requires an advanced degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of AI ethics experience, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science with an AI ethics focus, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, potential biases, and fairness metrics.
• Experience in developing ethical guidelines, conducting impact assessments, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ethical issues clearly.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed, remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce AI ethics policies, principles, and frameworks across the organization.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and bias audits for AI models and systems, identifying potential harms and proposing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with AI researchers, engineers, product managers, and legal teams to integrate ethical considerations into the AI development lifecycle.
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams on responsible AI development and deployment practices.
• Stay current with evolving AI ethics research, regulations, and best practices globally.
• Advocate for ethical AI principles and contribute to public discourse on AI responsibility.
