Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive AI Ethics and Governance Specialist to join their team in Welkom. This hybrid role focuses on ensuring that AI development and deployment align with ethical principles, regulatory requirements, and company values.

You will establish frameworks, policies, and processes to promote responsible AI innovation, collaborating with legal, compliance, data science, and engineering teams to navigate complex ethical landscapes and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law, Ethics, Computer Science, Policy, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in AI ethics, policy development, or governance.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their ethical implications.
• Familiarity with regulations concerning AI and data privacy.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI ethics policies, guidelines, and best practices.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments for AI projects and provide recommendations.
• Monitor AI systems for bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability.
• Advise teams on ethical considerations in data collection, model development, and deployment.
• Stay current with AI ethics research, regulations, and industry standards.
