Dataminr, a real-time intelligence platform, seeks a Senior Director of AI Engineering to lead engineers building the AI and data engine powering our product. You will bridge AI research and scalable deployment, delivering end-to-end AI solutions in a cloud-native environment.

This US-based role can be remote or based in our New York City office. You will define performance requirements for DL/ML models and collaborate with product and research teams to deliver impactful AI capabilities at scale.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years as a software engineer in a cloud-native environment (AWS, Kubernetes).
• 5+ years leading software engineers in an AI team.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks and LLMs (PyTorch, Langfuse, LangGraph, Weaviate).
• Hands-on experience deploying ML/DL/LLMs at scale in NLP, CV, IR.

Responsibilities

• Oversee how AI model outputs impact content quality.
• Define performance and cost metrics for models and end-to-end systems.
• Work with PMs, scientists, and engineers to deliver state-of-the-art solutions at scale.
• Lead and mentor engineers and researchers.
• Maintain a human-centered focus with end-user impact.
