Job summary

Dataminr is seeking a Senior Director of AI Engineering to lead a team delivering real-time AI-powered intelligence. You will bridge AI research and production, guiding DL models, LLMs, and agent-based systems into scalable products that impact customers worldwide.

You will partner with product, research, and engineering to define performance criteria, cost metrics, and end-to-end solutions, while mentoring engineers and fostering a human-centered approach to complex AI challenges.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of software engineering in cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes).
• 5+ years leading software engineers in an AI team.
• Hands-on experience with DL frameworks, LLMs, agent harnesses, and AI systems.
• Experience deploying ML/DL/LLMs at scale in NLP, CV, IR, or related real-time domains.
• Proven track record delivering multiple complex AI projects.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to connect research stages to end-to-end solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee how AI model outputs impact content quality on our platform.
• Define performance and cost metrics for DL/ML models with PM input.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and product managers to deploy scalable AI.
• Define and track quality and cost metrics for end-to-end performance.
• Hands-on refinement of workflows, evaluations, and model outputs.
• Lead engineers and scientists, guiding changes to technical approaches.
• Maintain human-centered focus on end users and real-world impact.
