Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Distinguished Technologist to lead architecture and pre-sales AI & Data Center Networking initiatives. This remote/teleworker role supports global customers, focusing on complex deals and innovative networking solutions.

You will collaborate with sales engineers, product teams, and partners, deliver demos and proofs-of-concept, and influence strategy across hyperscale data centers, AI networking, and WANs. 50% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred
• 20+ years of technical experience in network infrastructure architecture, design and solutions consulting
• 20+ years of experience with hyperscale networking and routing/switching
• Experience presenting and driving tech thought leadership at industry events and with standards bodies
• Hands-on expertise with SDN overlays (EVPN/VXLAN), DCI, automation and monitoring
• Familiarity with major networking silicon and software (e.g., Juniper, Arista, Cisco, SONiC, Cumulus)
• SME in virtualization tech on x86 and scaling with DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs
• Proven success in complex pre-sales, with ability to engage C-level stakeholders
• Experience programming/scripting (Python, APIs) to enable integration and automation
• Strong communication/presentation skills
• Experience designing playbooks and demos for complex networking products
• Experience preparing RFP/Tender responses and BOMs
• Willingness to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical architect early in complex sales cycles
• Architect end-to-end networking infrastructure solutions for data center, AI networking and WAN
• Lead solution design and customization with input from specialists and product teams
• Deliver demos, PoCs, and technical presentations to articulate value
• Engage with hyperscalers, enterprises, providers and partners to co-design solutions
• Influence technical strategy through deal validation and initial execution
• Develop best practices, enablement collateral, and architecture playbooks
• Mentor junior technologists and sales engineering teams
• Navigate complex tech transitions and maintain thought leadership
