Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Senior Functional Analyst to work remotely supporting federal programs. You will lead the capture and documentation of business and technical requirements, collaborate with users, IT, and leadership, and manage requirements in JIRA within an Agile/SAFe environment.

The role requires strong communication, 10 years of experience, a Master’s degree, US citizenship, and eligibility for a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies in large software projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for customers and stakeholders.
• Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel.
• Ability to collect, document, and trace requirements across teams.
• Experience using JIRA for requirements, testing, and defects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to elaborate and document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool.
• Perform Agile requirement management activities for a product team.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and specifications.
• Gather and document business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Elaborate user stories and decompose into backlog items with acceptance criteria.
• Use JIRA for Requirements Management, Testing, and Defect Management.
• Track system and business requirements and validate integration.
• Conduct backlog refinement sessions.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineers on technical impact.
• Manage requirements across multiple projects.
• Write and deliver project documents to the client.
• Identify and manage risks and issues impacting progress.
