Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead month-end close for cash, spend, and prepaid activities. You will ensure accurate journal entries in NetSuite and oversee reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in General Ledger or audit, advanced Excel skills, and NetSuite experience; CPA is preferred. This is a remote role supporting Pacific Time in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 5+ years in General Ledger or financial statement audit, with at least 1 year in a lead/management role.
• Advanced Excel skills (LOOKUPs, PivotTables, Index/Match) and large data set variance analysis.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP; ability to troubleshoot complex reconciliations and manage prepaid schedules.
• CPA preferred; experience with a large public accounting firm is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities for cash, spend and expense, corporate card, accrual, and prepaid workstreams, ensuring journal entries are accurate and timely in NetSuite.
• Review monthly Spend and Expense and corporate credit card journal entries to map transactions to GL accounts and department codes.
• Oversee the prepaid expense lifecycle, including amortization schedules and timely recognition of monthly amortization expense.
• Review monthly accruals for completeness, accuracy, and support, and investigate fluctuations to drive timely reversals and adjustments.
• Perform and review monthly bank, credit card, and prepaid reconciliations with detailed variance analysis to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain robust workpapers, roll-forward schedules, and reconciliation documentation for audit trails and compliance.
• Manage team members by setting expectations, reviewing work, coaching, and fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Identify process breakdowns and system sync issues, and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy and efficiency across expense and cash workflows.
