Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to serve as the go-to expert on complex, non-recurring, and emerging accounting matters in a remote role supporting the Pacific Time Zone in the US.

You will research and document positions under U.S. GAAP, partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and business teams, and ensure our financial statements and disclosures are accurate, audit-ready, and aligned with SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and active CPA.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant Big 4 public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements with ability to research issues and write memos.
• Experience with stock-based compensation (ASC 718), leases (ASC 842), revenue (ASC 606), debt, and business combinations.
• Public company experience and understanding of SOX controls and external audit process.
• Fintech or SaaS experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite/Oracle/Workiva; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate accounting impact of new or non-recurring transactions and document conclusions in technical memos.
• Monitor new accounting pronouncements and SEC guidance to update policies and lead implementation.
• Prepare analyses across revenue, stock-based compensation, leases, EPS, debt, and other areas.
• Serve as technical accounting reviewer in Chart of Accounts creation and maintenance.
• Support 10-Q/10-K workpapers including EPS and non-routine transactions.
• Own SOX controls and coordinate with external auditors on walkthroughs.
• Forecast stock-based compensation with the compensation team.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and business teams on new transactions and initiatives.
