The ideal candidate has 7+ years in accounting, 2+ years in supervision, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with WIOA-funded projects. Expect a fast-paced, confidential, remote-friendly environment with minimal travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP; ability to reconcile complex balance sheets and profit/loss reports.
• Experience budgeting and forecasting across multiple funding streams (WIOA or government contracting preferred).
• Advanced MS Excel and accounting software skills (QuickBooks, Adaptive Workday, Expensify a plus).
• Ability to manage a team and work effectively in a virtual/remote setting.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality. Travel minimal.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff; manage workload to meet deadlines.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Develop streamlined accounting procedures and internal controls to boost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with WIOA, local/state, and corporate policies in financial reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and working capital management for projects.
• Lead month-end closing and balance sheet reconciliations; coordinate audits.
