Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to join our remote finance team. You will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure GAAP compliance across the organization.

You’ll contribute to budgeting and forecasting, audits, and process improvements, reporting to the Controller. The ideal candidate has 3–8 years in accounting, a CPA preferred, and strong Excel and ERP skills (NetSuite, Intacct, QuickBooks).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA preferred
• 3-5 years Staff Accountant experience
• 5-8 years Sr Accountant experience
• GAAP knowledge
• Revenue recognition
• Excel proficiency
• ERP systems experience

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments
• Review transactions for GAAP compliance and company policies
• Analyze billing transactions and revenue recognition
• Prepare journal entries including accruals
• Assist in building financial statements and budgets
• Prepare year-end schedules for tax returns
