Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to support its growing operations. This remote role reports to the Controller and focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing data, budgeting, forecasting, audits and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years (Staff) or 5-8 years (Senior) in accounting or auditing, CPA preferred, strong Excel skills, and the ability to communicate financial information across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred
• 3-5 years (Staff Accountant), or 5-8 (Sr Accountant) years in accounting or auditing
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Strong GAAP knowledge and revenue recognition understanding
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate financial information across the organization

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper revenue recognition
• Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow related schedules
• Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals
• Support budget variance analysis and budget design
• Prepare year-end schedules for annual tax returns
• Identify process improvements in accounting workflows
