Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to support its finance team. You will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role reports to the Controller and emphasizes budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements in a remote setting. The ideal candidate has accounting, financial analysis and reporting expertise, with CPA preferred and 3–8 years of relevant experience; strong Excel skills and experience with major

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5–8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing; public accounting preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and revenue recognition experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze expenses and allocate to departments; report to departments as needed.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper revenue recognition practices.
• Review GL accounts and prepare monthly, quarterly, yearly accruals.
• Assist in building financial statements and budget variance analysis.
• Prepare year-end schedules for tax returns; support process improvements.
