Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to join its finance team. You will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements.

The role reports to the Controller and collaborates across departments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting with 3–8 years of experience, CPA preferred, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years (Staff Accountant) or 5–8 years (Sr Accountant) in accounting or auditing; public accounting preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of financial statements, GAAP, and revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting: reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments with reporting.
• Review transactions for GAAP compliance and revenue recognition.
• Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position; budget variance analysis.
• Assist in budget design and year-end tax schedules; look for process improvements.
