Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant for a remote role reporting to the Controller. You will maintain financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance across budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements.

A strong background in accounting and GAAP is essential, with CPA preferred and 3–8 years of experience in accounting or auditing. Responsibilities include reconciliations, journal entries, revenue recognition reviews, and preparing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA preferred or pursuing certification.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition.
• Good communication and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting function including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and Billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate expenses to departments; report as needed.
• Review transactions for GAAP compliance and company policies.
• Analyze revenue recognition and posting of monthly/quarterly/yearly accruals.
• Build financial statements and conduct budget variance analysis.
• Assist in budget design and year-end tax schedules.
• Identify process improvements in accounting workflows.
