Job summary

BenchPrep is seeking a Staff/Senior Accountant to join the accounting function. You’ll maintain financial records, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvements.

The role reports to the Controller and requires a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and reporting with proficiency in Excel and common accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years staff accounting or 5–8 years senior accounting/auditing experience, public accounting preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial statement prep.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, detail-oriented, deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions including reconciliations, journal entries, AR, AP, and billing.
• Analyze expenditures and allocate costs to departments; report as needed.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and proper revenue recognition treatment.
• Review GL accounts and post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and budgets; variance analysis.
• Support year-end tax schedules and process improvements.
