Qualifications

• 3 years directly related medical billing experience
• 1 year of customer service experience handling billing inquiries
• Familiarity with patient accounts and self-pay processes preferred

Responsibilities

• Resolve discrepancies on guarantor accounts and ensure payments align with contracts, discounts, or write-offs.
• Work self-pay accounts in queues, manage aging, deceased, bankruptcy, charity, and balance issues.
• Coordinate with collection agencies for recalls, verify balances, and provide statements.
• Respond promptly to written inquiries from patients regarding balances and billing questions.
• Assist as a backup to Customer Service by answering patient calls.
• Collaborate with Insurance Follow-up on benefits, denials, or claim issues.
