GovCIO is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join cross-functional teams building and modernizing federal digital services on AWS GovCloud. The role is fully remote within CONUS and focuses on automation-first testing, sprint-aligned test planning, and regression/end-to-end testing.

You will design test strategies, develop automated suites using Cypress/Playwright, perform API testing with Postman or scripts, and ensure robust test coverage across data stores like

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2–5 years of related experience.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.
• Hands-on SDET with automation-first mindset.
• Experience with Cypress or Playwright for front-end testing.
• Automated REST API testing experience (Postman or scripted tests).
• SQL and Python proficiency for data validation and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Plan testing for each story and design automated tests.
• Build and maintain automated test suites and integrate into CI/CD.
• Run functional, regression, API, and end-to-end tests.
• Audit tests and ensure coverage across unit, integration, and system levels.
• Collaborate in a Scrum team and participate in sprint planning and reviews.
• Maintain test environments on AWS GovCloud and report test metrics.
