Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Associate, Scoring Services to work remotely for the Malta, NY office. You will evaluate responses to test questions from New York teacher candidates and participate in consensus scoring with other scorers.

Requirements include a current teaching certification or recent content-area teaching, or professors with relevant teaching/advise experience. Basic computer skills and US work eligibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have current teaching certification in the applicable subject area and have taught in schools within the last three years (including regular substitute).
• OR educators from colleges/universities who have taught or advised a relevant content field within the last three years.
• OR hold a degree in the content area and have had professional employment in that content area in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in discussions and consensus scoring with other scorers.
• Recognize and discuss bias types (bias examples listed) and apply strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
