Job summary

Pearson is hiring for Associate, Scoring Services to score multiple subjects remotely for the Malta, NY office. The role requires current teaching certification or equivalent education experience, with recent teaching activity preferred.

Scorers will evaluate test responses, follow scoring standards, and participate in consensus scoring. The position offers a remote schedule, starting pay of $17.50 per hour, and non-bonus benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in the subject area and active teaching or recent teaching within 3 years (including substitutes).
• Educators from colleges/universities who taught/advised relevant field in last 3 years.
• Degree in content area with professional employment in that area in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions from New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring discussions.
• Discuss bias types (implicit, cultural, leniency, central tendency, halo) and strategies to reduce bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass the scoring qualifying test.
