Job summary

Pearson is hiring for an Associate, Scoring Services to score teacher licensure exams remotely for the Malta, NY office. You must have a current subject-area teaching certification or relevant college/university teaching experience, or a degree with recent related work history.

Responsibilities include evaluating test responses, mastering scoring standards, and participating in consensus scoring. The role supports flexible, remote scoring sessions Monday–Friday with occasional training periods.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in the subject area and recent teaching in K-12 within the last three years.
• Educators from colleges/universities who taught or advised a content area within the last three years.
• Degree in the content area with recent professional employment in the content area within the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and engage with scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss various bias types and implement strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
