Job summary

The Chef Ann Foundation seeks a New York State School Food Operations Specialist to deliver expert technical support for school districts in Sullivan County and across NY Healthy School Food Pathways. This remote, full-time role focuses on scratch cooking, procurement, and five core operation pillars.

You will provide on-site and virtual guidance, review district content, and assist in program development while traveling within NY and nationally as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Culinary, Nutrition, or Food Service.
• Minimum four years of experience in school food service.
• Travel 50–75% of the time.
• Proficient with Asana/PM software, Google Workspace and Zoom.
• Strong writing and editing skills for operator communications.

Responsibilities

• Answers technical and operational questions regarding USDA regulations and procurement.
• Provides on-site and virtual operational expertise to support NY Pathway programs.
• Reviews district content and provides feedback on recommendations.
• Attends meetings with funders and stakeholders to answer operational questions.
• Provides districts with technical assistance to increase scratch cooking and five key areas.
• Supports food service directors with educational components of NY Pathway programs.
• Leads virtual learning sessions and coordinates schedules and outreach.
