Job summary

Stride, Inc. through K12 Private Academy is seeking a full-time School Counselor for a virtual role open to all U.S. residents. The counselor will promote college and career readiness, collaborate with teachers, and support students and families with data-driven counseling strategies.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, at least three years in counseling/advisement, and preferred state certification. Travel up to 20% may be required for professional development and student activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; three years of counseling/advisement experience.
• State School Counselor Certification preferred; background check clearance.
• Master’s degree in school counseling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in postsecondary planning and college readiness.
• Deliver classroom instruction and review transcripts.
• Develop a four-year graduation plan and audit student schedules.
• Analyze student data and develop data-driven intervention plans.
• Provide short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support.
• Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development.
• Support standardized testing, parent education, and staff development.
• Advocate for students at IEP meetings and other student-focused meetings.
