Job summary

UPMC in Pittsburgh is seeking a Scheduling Services Scheduling Specialist, Associate to join our call center team. Located in the Quantum One Building in the South Side, the role offers work-from-home after training, strong benefits, and growth opportunities.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, guiding scheduling, directions and appointments, and assisting with demographics and insurance data entry. A monthly incentive program rewards performance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of general customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer multi-line telephone system while scheduling appointments according to department protocols.
• Review, verify and enter patient demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Advocate for patients by providing guidance on scheduling, registration, and billing.
• Complete forms, upload/scan documents, and handle medicine refill requests.
• Coordinate post-discharge appointment requirements and follow up on appointments.
• Document all actions taken on a patient account.
• Identify and address patient concerns using appropriate escalation.
• Maintain patient records accurately.
• HS Diploma or equivalent
