Job summary

Optum in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Scheduling Coordinator to schedule and coordinate patient appointments, verify insurance, and support clinical teams.

You will handle high call volumes, use EPIC, and maintain accuracy in demographics and eligibility; training is provided with a shift pattern that includes 7:55 am to 4:25 pm MST and potential overtime. The role supports a remote work arrangement within the local area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1+ years of related customer service experience in a call center, medical office/healthcare facility, healthcare insurance carrier, or scheduling field.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Experience with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Ability to work our normal business hours from 7:55 am - 4:25 pm MST, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedules and coordinates patient appointments for assigned clinics.
• Work in a high call volume environment while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Analyzing provider schedules to ensure maximum capacity is met.
• Obtains eligibility and benefit information in a timely manner, including transferring and updating demographic data in EPIC.
• Registering patients in EPIC with updated demographics and insurance information.
• Use templates in the EHR and send encounters via the EHR, multitasking between office systems and the EHR.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
