Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Software Engineer (Akka) to design and build highly concurrent, distributed applications using the actor model for scalability and resilience. The role focuses on JVM-based systems with Scala and functional programming, in a fully remote context.

You will collaborate with global teams to define actor hierarchies, ensure system isolation, and drive performance improvements across distributed architectures.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with concurrent and distributed systems.
• Proven expertise in Akka and the actor model.
• Strong Scala and functional programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with message-driven systems and reactive development.
• Excellent English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly concurrent, distributed applications using Akka and Scala.
• Develop message-driven architectures based on the actor model to ensure system isolation and responsiveness.
• Build resilient and self-healing systems by implementing supervision and fault-tolerance strategies.
• Optimize distributed systems for high throughput and low latency across JVM-based environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define actor hierarchies and reactive system standards.
• Ensure the stability and performance of elastic architectures through cluster management and monitoring.
